This past Monday, two things happened that I was looking forward to for a while now.. I got my lens (18-50/2.8) back from Sigma, with a brand new AF engine, and replacement of the front glass elements, and GWAR played the Commodore Ballroom.
I wasn’t a big GWAR fan in any of their last 25 years, but I did enjoy their new album even though many people are saying it sucks. So I took my freshly repaired lens, and the plastic bag it came wrapped in to get destroyed by laser-cannon-fired blood. At least, I thought it was worth it to risk it.
At least my camera is weather sealed. Not that that really means anything..

Beefcake the Mighty, known for inventing music by stretching dinosaur guts across the Grand Canyon.

Vocalist and FOX NEWS correspondent Oderus Urungus. A little less diseased then their regular news team..

The most cultured of the group, BALSAC THE JAWS OF DEATH.

I wore a garbage bag over my torso.. I wanted to blend in, since I had my gear on me.. If I was there to enjoy it, I would have just worn white.. But they target photographers, so once the gun came out, I got soaked in blood.

I’m not sure what the green stuff was, but I’m glad I didn’t get any on me..

My favorite shot of Oderus for the night. Im already looking forward to shooting them again, I want to have a few faster lenses next year if/when they come back.

Note the tubing coming up from behind him.. That really means only one thing.. Something is going to get soaked in blood.

A moment before the attack!

Then a torrent of blood from the guy frame left.. He tried lifting me onto the stage, which would have been interesting..

And one last shot of Oderus to end with.
