Austin or Bust..

For no other reason than to try my hand at something new, I wrote my first discussion panel and submitted it for consideration for South by Southwest, known by SXSW, for the 2010 season. I submitted the panel late, and even though late entries were subject to more scrutiny when the decision is made to move them to the next round, I made it through.

So between August 17th, and September 4th, I need as many people as possible to vote for my idea to be ‘shown’ at SXSW 2010.

My panel is titled ‘How a redundant industry can keeps us essential’ and will focus on how a failing music/record industry can keep us on our toes in our other pursuits, be it personal, or professional.

To vote, all you have to do is register, which really takes no time at all. After voting for my panel, feel free to use the panel search tool to bring up other talks of interest and vote for those as well.

Some recommended panels, by friends and/or fellow Vancouverites:

Robert Scales – Social Media and the Olympics: A Case Study

Dave Olson – Hitchhiking to the Boardroom and Rock ‘n Roll Photography – I look forward, more, to the latter, with bearded internet super-hero Kris Krüg, and Bev Davies

Kris Krug – Listening the the Internet: Online Media Monitoring and Your Content is You, Your Website is Dead.

SXSW takes place March 12th – 21th in Austin Texas, and I will only be going if my panel is selected. If you would like to volunteer to be part of this panel, please email me using the “contact me” link top right of the page.

Cheers!
